Welcome to the WIP Website !
WIP is a project funded by the EC under the FP6-IST programme. The project
runs from January 2006 until January 2009. The project team comprises 8
European organisations.
The vision of WIP is a world in which:
- The access points of unlicensed cellular networks cooperate to create a wireless communication infrastructure.
- Designing, implementing, and experimentally validating an all-wireless interconnection architecture based on advanced wireless transmission techniques is at work in a disruptive approach
- The underlaying all-wireless infrastructure is called "the Radio Internet" that we help making become a reality with an Internet-like growth towards a scalable and robust communication network.
- Internet is moving to an all-wireless Mobile Architecture which fits new users' communities behaviours and is wide-opened on new business and social insights
